Only 5% of the world population has been on a flight in his or her life. Airlines do not pay any sales-taxes, there is no tax on kerosine or any emission fees or reduction guidelines. The Airline industry is responsible for about 5-10% of all Co2 emissions. Scientists state that if the growth-rates of flights will be constant and emission-reduction of other industries will continue until 2050 (60% reduction until 2050), the airline industry will be responsible for about 80-95% of all C02 emissions. The airline-lobby IATA is pushing very hard to keep the airline industry out of climate-change discussions. Because they know that what is happening right know may be called Global injustice. Take a look at this clip and you will know who the 5% of “flying population” are.

Wie heißt es so schön bei den Stammtischen: ” Zwei Sachen im Leben sind sicher: Der Tod und die Steuer!” Und da wir vor Beidem ähnlich große Angst haben, werden neue Steuereinführungen als Teufelswerk abgestempelt. Doch manchmal sollte man die Todesangst der Steuer ausblenden und neuen Ideen Raum schaffen. So auch mit der “Finanztransaktionssteuer” – hässlicher Name, typisch Steuer – lasst sie uns einfach “FIST” nennen. Denn sie ist ein Schlag ins Gesicht – und zwar für hochspekulative Geschäfte. Sämtliche kurzfristige und risikoreiche Finanztransaktionen sollen mit dieser Steuer belastet werden: um ganze 0,05%! Also ein “Fünfzigstel” Cent pro Euro. Diese steuerliche Abgabe würde in etwa 100 Mrd. € pro Jahr generieren. Dies wäre allerdings nur unter einem internationalen Abkommen möglich, also in Zusammenarbeit mit der Staatengemeinschaft. Und welche Kompromisse dafür notwendig sind, haben wir bereits in Kopenhagen erlebt. Nichtsdestotrotz: Der Gedanke hinter der Steuer ist sinnig und rational. Irgendetwas muss doch endlich aus der Finanzkrise gelernt werden?!
